Ryan Ashley Malarkey
Host
Ryan Ashley Malarkey is best known for being the first woman to win "Ink Master" (Season 8) and for hosting Paramount's spin-off "Ink Master: Angels," but this world-traveling artist has even more up her sleeve.
Ryan graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2007. As a fashion designer, she specialized in ornate, intricate design and focused on embroidery, beadwork, textile and lace. She left her New York City fashion career in 2011 to pursue tattooing in her Pennsylvania hometown and flourished, competing on "Ink Master" with only a few years of experience.
Since winning "Ink Master," Ryan has traveled the world, tattooing and teaching as much as she can. She has worked in New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Ireland, England, Puerto Rico and Mexico. In 2018, she became the first tattoo artist to collaborate with Apple, and she was featured on the covers of the nation's most influential tattoo magazines such as Inked, Tattoo Life and Tattoo Society. Along with her fame came an Instagram following of more than 1 million people.
Ryan lives in the western slope of Colorado, a peaceful contrast to the day-to-day busyness of New York City. She works alongside her boyfriend, Arlo DiCristina, in his beautiful studio, Elysium, and continues to travel the globe tattooing, teaching and enjoying life.
