Spike TV's hit original series "Ink Master" is gearing up for production on Season 2 and is looking for human canvases to get inked on TV by some of the country's top tattoo artists. An open casting call for human canvases will be held this Saturday, June 2 from Noon – 5 PM at the offices of Original Media, the production company behind "Ink Master" located at 38 East 29th Street, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10016. In particular, the show is looking to cast women, but men are also encouraged to apply.
Are you all inked up and ready for your next big piece? Or, are you a first timer who has always wanted a tattoo, and now you're finally ready to take the plunge onto an artist's table? Have you ever wanted the shock value of a horrific or biomechanical-style tattoo? Do you want to get a portrait to memorialize a loved one, or a Japanese style piece to pay homage to your heritage? Is there a daring area that you have always wanted to have tattooed? If so, then "Ink Master" wants to see and hear from you.
All potential human canvases must be at least 21 years old, located within the New York Tri-State area and available for taping this summer. Human canvases must bring a valid photo ID (i.e. state issued driver's license, passport), a current photo of themselves (or headshot), an idea or example of the tattoo or style desired and must be prepared to show the area they would like to have tattooed. Most importantly, human canvases should bring their personalities and why they should be chosen to get a free tattoo from one of the best tattoo artists on the planet. Human canvases should email Casting.Season2@gmail.com with their interest.
Hosted by music legend and tattoo aficionado Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction) and judged by renown tattoo artists Chris Nunez ("Miami Ink") and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo), "Ink Master" showcases some ten of the nation's top tattoo artists from around the country who battle it out in permanent ink for a $100,000 cash prize, an editorial feature in the preeminent tattoo magazine Inked, and the title of 'Ink Master.' The tension and stakes are high as contestants compete in various tattoo challenges that not only test the artists' technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, where they must create and execute an original tattoo on command. Challenges focus on different tattooing techniques and styles.
