The forthcoming Paramount Network is pleased to announce that Oscar®-winning actor Kevin Costner will be starring in the title role of John Dutton in the scripted series event "Yellowstone." The program goes into production this fall and will debut in summer 2018.
Costner is world-renowned for his roles on the silver screen. From his portrayal of Eliot Ness in the "Untouchables," Crash Davis in "Bull Durham," Ray Kinsella in "Field of Dreams," and Jim Garrison in "JFK," Costner is a versatile talent with a commanding presence onscreen. Most notably, his role as Devil Anse Hatfield in "Hatfields and McCoys" garnered him an Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award.
In "Yellowstone," Costner will portray John Dutton, the man who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. The property is under constant attack by its neighbors - land developers, an Indian reservation, and America's first National Park. The series will explore a violent world outside of the glare of media scrutiny and focus on the delicate dynamic between politics, money, and the fight for the environment. "Yellowstone" will truly capture the best and worst aspects of the American experience.
